Place on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet. Beat at medium speed until well combined. In a large bowl beat the butter until smooth and creamy for about one minute.

Add the sugar and continue to beat until creamy for about 2 minutes. Place in the fridge for 1 hour. Stir in flour mixture to make a firm dough.

Add the egg, vanilla, and almond extract and continue to beat until incorporated. Use a regular spoon to scoop dough and create small balls. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Place sugar cookie dough on a floured surface and roll to or thickness (thicker = softer cookies). If making regular round sugar cookies: Lightly flour your work surface and roll the dough to 1/8 thickness.

Roll out dough between two pieces of plastic wrap to 1/4 inch thick. We think 1/8 inch is the perfect thickness for a crisp, buttery cookie, but this dough can be rolled to 1/4 inch thick if you prefer a soft texture. Cut out, bake and decorate cookies:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees with racks in upper and lower thirds. Over mixing any batter or dough can lead to toughness. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet, and cut with a floured cookie cutter.

Add egg, vanilla and almond extract; Next, youll be ready to cut out the shapes. Use your favorite cookie cutter and go to town.

Line cookie sheets with parchment paper; Chill rolled out cookie dough. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.

In a medium sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Frost the cookies if desired. Use your favorite cookie cutter shapes and cut out the dough and place them 1 apart on the prepared cookie sheets.

Without chilling, these cookie cutter sugar cookies wont hold their shape. This is my new go to recipe for sugar cookies. The name of this recipe says it all.it's so easy and very good!

You should notice the color of the mixture actually get lighter in color and it should get fluffy in texture. This no chill, no spread homemade sugar cookie recipe makes soft and deliciously buttery cut out sugar cookies that hold their shape when baked, so they're perfect for decorating for christmas or any holiday (or just because!). Place the dough onto the parchment paper and flatten it with your hands.

Refrigerate until firm, at least 1 hour or overnight. If you have difficulty evenly rolling out dough, try this adjustable rolling pin. Add eggs and vanilla extract, beating well until combined.

Using cookie cutters, cut out the dough and transfer each one to a prepared baking sheet. Freeze for 10 minutes prior to baking. Add the flour mixture, beating just until combined and the dough starts to come together.

Form dough into a disc and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate one hour or until firm enough to roll. Instead of whipping, beating, using raw egg whites, or any of that nonsense, this glaze is only 4 ingredients, tastes great and sets fast which is perfect for packing, storing, or stacking cookies. For cut out cookies, use the cookie cutter of your choice on the rolled out dough and then place on cookie sheet.

Blend in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated. With a flat bottom drinking glass, lightly coat bottom with sugar and flatten the ball. The kids were able to transfer the cookies to the cookie sheet.

Place the balls onto a cookie sheet (i like to line my cookie sheets with silicone baking mats) and bake them! When ready to make the cookies, preheat oven to 350 degrees f and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. The cookies held their shape and the kids had a great time decorating.

In a mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter, sugar, confectioners sugar, and salt together until light and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder and salt in small bowl; In another bowl, cream butter with sugar until fluffy and light.

Mine took about 15 minutes, but i like a thick sugar cookie. The dough was easy to roll out and to cut. Very good flavor even without the frosting.

Cream together the butter and sugar; In medium bowl, or in bowl of electric stand mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Divide the cookie dough into 1 1/2 inch balls of dough and roll them in a little bit of granulated white sugar.

I found this to be the best sugar cookie recipe for cutouts! After making another sugar cookie recipe (which turned out disasterous) i decided to try this one. Ive actually posted this sugar cookie base recipe a time or two before with various decoration ideas, but because it really deserves a little more attention, im featuring it again in a little different way.

Let one disk of dough stand at room temperature just until soft enough to roll, about 10 minutes. Add flour mixture and beat until dough is smooth. Place 1 inch apart on prepared baking sheets.

Then youll mix in the egg and vanilla, then the dry ingredients. I was even able to make shapes out of these! Remember to not crowd the dough on the cookie sheet.

The mixture will look slightly lumpy. The recipe also includes a simple vanilla icing for decorating. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl as needed.

Allow to cool completely before frosting. Repeat until all the dough is used. They turned out very tasty and my husband loved them!
